My goal when creating is often simple… what am I not seeing out there? What can I create that is new? I like different. My imagination led me to a vision of… living in an old & well loved brick house full of quilts and yarn and all things warm! Budding pomegranate trees fill the backyard and a jar of dried cranberry tea and a crystal for good luck sits on the windowsill. I’m cozied up on a soft chair in my old favorite grey sweater or maybe that stained & oversized grey sweatshirt! Hand knit socks keep my feet warm from the cold wood floor. I know the zucchini and eggplants still need to be harvested outdoors, but I can’t seem to pull myself outside lately. It’s just too darn cozy in here! My knitting and day dreaming thoughts keep me such good company these days. I can smell the almond cookies baking and my favorite candle burning. A gift from a dear friend. Their sweet smells wafting throughout the house. My oversized mug of coffee is getting cold (again) but that’s okay. Fall is here. Welcome to my day dream!
Boy, oh boy! What started off as a wee humble idea of dyeing up a few colors on Tweed Fingering turned into seven (yes SEVEN!) new colorways that encompassed my day dream and a vision of this season. I was then so excited about these tweed beauties, I had the grand idea to offer all seven on a variety of 3 bases. And of course sock sets too! (Yes it’s been as wild as it sounds over here, but when it strikes, it strikes ya know?!) I believe the colors are a bit unexpected and I love them for that very reason, and I hope you love them too! YOU, my subscribers are the first to see this collection! I’ve been holding out showing sneak peeks and I tell you, holding in my excitement hasn’t been easy! Haha!
A few tidbits to note: Listings will go up on Friday Oct.8th and will be offered as pre-orders with a 4-5 week turn around. Although I do feel they will go out sooner as I’ll be having some extra hands in town! (Thanks to my niece & Mama!) Listings will be up for a few days or until I hit my max. I still do recommend getting your orders in sooner rather than later, just in case!
So here we are. Color recipes are made, yarn is in stock, samples are dyed, photos have been (mostly) all taken, listings are ready to go and now the newsletter is (nearly) done. Oh and I already have what feels like a pretty good head start on dyeing up yarn too. (Hooray!)
